The tutor on both of these courses is Mr. Tony Higgins CMIOSH. Tony is a Chartered Member of IOSH and is a registered Construction Skills tutor as well as holding a City & Guilds train the trainer certificate in Manual handling and both the BIOH P402 & 405 in asbestos surveying and management qualifications. REMEMBER YOUR TUTOR’S COMPETENCE IS IMPORTANT!

Both courses cost 1 delegate £40.00 or 2 delegates + @ £35.00. There is also the option to run these courses in house at your venue for groups of max 15 at a cost of £300 per session or 2 sessions in one day at a cost of £500, please contact us for more details and available dates. Construction Fatal Injuries Down 2008-09

In UK construction there were 53 fatal injuries, with a rate of 2.4 deaths per 100 000 workers. An average of the previous five years shows a rate of 3.4. There is an overall downward trend in the rate of fatal injury to workers in this sector. 4 members of the public were killed in the same period as a result of construction activities.

The number of fatal injuries in the sector was 2.4 per 100,000, which still makes construction one of the most dangerous industries in which to work.

However the rate was still lower than the average rate over the past five years of 3.4 per 100,0000.

A trained work force is one way of helping drive these figures down even further - one death is too many!

For example Tony Higgins our lead trainer has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years and has worked in H&S for 13 years, for companies such as Carillion and Entec. He has been a H&S consultant and trainer for 8 years.

Tony is a Charted Member of the Institute of Safety and Health(CMIOSH) and has to undertake regular Continued Professional Development (CPD) to keep this accreditation. He is also a registered trainer with Construction Skills (CITB).

Tony delivers all our Construction Skills, SMSTS, (5 Day) SSSTS (2 Day) etc. courses. He undertakes our Asbestos Awareness courses and holds both the British Occupational Health Certificates P402 & P405 in Asbestos management and well as having hands on experience of asbestos projects.

As part of Tony's CPD programme he recently attended the City & Guilds Train the Trainer course in Manual Handling Training and has recently completed the City & Guilds 7303 certificate in teaching adult learners also.
