Feedback from our recent (July 2010) Asbestos Awareness Training

Feedback we received recently from two Project managers regarding our 1/2 day Asbestos Awareness Training .

This asbestos training is now vital and mandatory training for all who may be exposed to asbestos, in their day to day jobs. This includes most of the construction industry, maintenance workers, shop fitters, alarm, data, CCTV installers etc. If you require this training please contact us. Our training is aimed right across the board from managers and supervisors to tradesmen and operatives.

Construction Skills Grant Changes

We have recently been advised that the grants for Site Safety Plus Courses (SSSTS, SMSTS, SMSTS Refresher, Site Safety Awareness) will be reduced/withdrawn from 1 August 2010 (attendance grant reduced to £17.50 per day, achievement grant withdrawn.

Please note that in order to receive the full grant including the achievement grant training must be completed by 31 July 2010.

This is a significant reduction in grants.

SMSTS Refresher = £35
SSSTS site supervisor = £35

1/2 Day Asbestos Awareness Training

We are running 2 x 1/2 day Asbestos Awareness training sessions in Gateshead (Tolent Training Centre).

Both courses are on the same day, morning and afternoon sessions:

The sessions are aimed at all levels, Managers, supervisors, Trades and operatives.

Any person involved in demolition, construction refurbishment, shop fitting, maintenance, electrical, data cabling, heating and plumbing should be undertaking this training. This training is in line with the HSE requirements as laid down in the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2006 Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and HSE Asbestos Essentials http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/guidance/em2.pdf
